Stand Up Against Bullying!

You may have noticed a sea pink shirts in our branches on Thursday, September 13th.   Community Credit Union is very proud to participate in Stand Up Against Bullying Day, a province-wide day of recognition, conversations and action to stop bullying and cyberbullying.

Stand Up Against Bullying Day, was inspired by the actions of two high school senior students in Cambridge, NS after seeing a freshman student who made his first appearance in a new school showing up wearing a pink polo shirt and was verbally abused for wearing that color.  The two seniors decided to take a stand and wore pink to school, encouraging other classmates to do the same to send a strong message throughout the student body that bullying should never be tolerated.  The story of this bullying started out in the Canadian media, and eventually spread internationally.
