COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP FOR YOUTH

Community Credit Union Sponsors The Joe Walsh Memorial Golf Tournament in Support of World Youth Day.

TRURO (August 28) – The President & CEO of one of the province’s most progressive and community minded credit unions, Community Credit Union of Cumberland Colchester Ltd., recently presented their annual donation to the Immaculate Conception Church following the Joe Walsh Memorial Golf Tournament held on Friday.

“We are very privileged to be a part of this event”, said Darrell Kuhn, President & CEO of Community Credit Union. “To give our local youth an opportunity for a once in a lifetime leadership development experience is an investment in our future,” said Kuhn. Proceeds from the tournament will help send seven of our youth to Poland in 2016 to attend World Youth Day, where they will have an opportunity to meet with Pope Francis.

“World Youth Day brings together over 2 million youth from around the world. For many it is a life changing experience. It is important that we give our local youth these global opportunities”, says Father Dariusz Miskowicz, who serves as pastor at Immaculate Conception.

The golf tournament, held annually in memory of long-time volunteer Joe Walsh, helps support the many activities of the Parish. “We applaud the Parish for hosting this event each year and to the participants past and present, as the funds from this tournament go to support many important activities of the Parish,” added Kuhn.

Locally owned and community focused, Community Credit Union is recognized for its contribution to many community-based organizations, which includes $100,000 in annual support. “This is indeed gratifying”, says Kuhn, “because Community Credit Union is all about the betterment of the communities we work and live, and ensuring our youth and eventual community leaders can reach their goals and dreams”, he said

Community Credit Union of Cumberland Colchester Limited provides a full range of modern, quality financial services tailored to the diverse and ever-changing needs of its members.
